SDCC 2010 the Aftermath…

Posted in Website Update on July 28th, 2010 by Joe

Con came and went and it was a blur.  It was hard, long and tiring but we made it through.  I really want to thank Randy for helping me out so much, I don’ t think I could have made it without him.  I also want to thank Kevin for helping out in the booth and making it easy for me to take a break.  I met a lot of new people and hopefully made some new friends and saw a lot of old friends.  I was a pretty darn good time. I heard from a lot of customers and fans about Greg Tocchini’s latest work “Last Days of American Crime“, the response was fantastic.  Everyone loves it.

Guess it’s time to start planning for next year!

Thanks

Cheers!

Wow!  I can’t believe it is already here.  The San Diego Comic-Con, the “Mecca” of all things Pop Culture, Television, Movie and Comic book related. We invite you all to come by and see us at the Con, we will be located in BOOTH #4405 in the Illustrators Area.  You just might run into a couple of the artists, Rafael ALBUQUERQUE (American Vampire, Superman/Batman & the Blue Beetle) or you may run into Ryan BENJAMIN (Batman Beyond, Batman & the Outsiders, Grifter/Midnighter & Pancratia).  We will have original art, art prints, sketchbooks and more from many of today’s top comic artists like Renato GUEDES (Wolverine, Superman & Action Comics), Eddy BARROWS (Superman, Blackest Night & Teen Titans), Paulo SIQUEIRA (Amazing Spider-Man & Anti-Venom), Adriana MELO (Birds of Prey, Ms. Marvel & Witchblade), Greg TOCCHINI (Last Days of American Crime) and many more!  So come by and say “hi”.  We look forward to seeing many of our old friends and meeting new ones.

*I have just completed uploading a large batch of new art including pages from Rafael ALBUQUERQUE (Superman/Batman), Greg TOCCHINI(Last Days of American Crime), Ig GUARA(Lockjaw and the Pet Avengers) and Daniel HDR (X-Men Forever). If you would like to make arrangements to pick up the art work at the Con and saving on shipping, drop me a line and we can make it happen.

See you at the show.

Superman/Batman Annual #4 and Batman Beyond #1 – into Second Printing

Posted in Website Update on July 3rd, 2010 by Joe

I have to say I’m ecstatic and very happy for two of our artists, Renato GUEDES (Superman/Batman Annual #4) and Ryan BENJAMIN (Batman Beyond Vol. 3 #1)!  Both of their respective works were so very well received that they sold out and are now in second printings.  Although this might be considered Renato’s swan song at DC, nonetheless he definitely hit a home run with his last at bat.  Pun most definitely intended.

And as for Ryan, he was actually very excited when he was given the chance to draw Batman Beyond, he just wasn’t sure how the DC editors wanted him to tackle the characters since the characters have become very distinctly know for being drawn in the Bruce Timm style.  Ryan is enjoying drawing the characters and the story keeps him engaged as well, therefore you can see it in the fine art work.

I hope to have the pages from both of these great stories very soon.  I will keep everyone in the loop here on via email updates.

Thanks for stopping by.

Cheers!

Rafael Albuquerque and American Vampire

Posted in Website Update on April 3rd, 2010 by Joe

By now everyone is aware that Rafael is the artist working with Scott Snyder and Stephen King on Vertigo’s hottest release in, “American Vampire“.  I read the issue and even though working with Rafael I was not privy to any inside information, I was truly impressed and thoroughly enjoyed the story.  You can follow this link to a review from “Ain’t It Cool News“, who can provide you with a much more professional unbiased review of the book.  I will say that I truly am anxious to get my hands on the next issue!  What about you?

*NEWS-UPDATE*  Rafael is accepting offers for American Vampire #1, including the cover!!  This book is being offered in it’s complete form, all 32 pages along with the cover.  You can view the pages and cover in all their glory over at my website.  Individual pages are NOT being sold.

This is an outstanding opportunity to own a very significant book, in it’s entirety. If you are interested please feel free to drop me a line at:  joegonzalez@comic-art-ink.com

Eddy Barrows take the reins

Posted in Website Update on April 3rd, 2010 by Joe

It has been announced that Eddy Barrows will become the regular monthly artist on Superman, beginning with issue #700. The art chores really take off in issue #701. In the meantime you can see Eddy’s work on Superman in “War of the Supermen“, which began as a Free Comic Book Day solicitation and moved to a four issue mini-series. I am happy to see Eddy on a regular monthly title and such a high profile one! Eddy is not only a great artist he is a very great guy. Let’s wish him well as he begins this new adventure.

SDCC 2010

Posted in Website Update on February 6th, 2010 by Joe

Great news!  We will once again be located in the “Illustrators Area” in BOOTH #4405 for this years San Diego Comic Con.  The news was phenomenal that 4 day ticket sales sold out by November!  Incredible.  Every year the Con has not failed to get bigger and bigger, constantly creating the never ending question and speculation that Comic Con will be moving on to greener pastures (or at least larger pastures).  Well that is not for us to decide or encourage here, simply just to state the facts.  Anyways, just thought I would drop this quick note.  Questions?  Comments are always welcome.

Back from our trip “Down Under”.

Posted in Website Update on November 3rd, 2009 by Joe

Whew!
After a 15 hour flight (that was delayed an extra 5 hours!) we are finally back at home.  The trip was great.  The wedding was spectacular, the bride and groom were beautiful and the weather was brilliant.  It was nice to be with family and friends and catch up on things.
So after our (much too short) vacation, it’s time to get back to business!  I will begin emailing those of you with questions and taking care of much needed responses.  I hope to be receiving a shipment of art very soon, so I should be having an update for you all very soon as well.  I want to thank you all for your patience.

Cheers!

Website Update! (finally)

Posted in Website Update on September 17th, 2009 by Joe

Hi everyone!

Wow, it’s been a while since I’ve posted and I finally have some great news to write about so here goes.  I have finally updated the website and have been able to scan and add a whole bunch of art, so please stop by and have a look.  I’ve tried to make things a little easier to navigate around, so now when you are on any artists page simply clicking on the “Comic Art Gallery” button will take you the artists entire art gallery!  I hope everyone likes it.

I have art from Eddie BARROWS, Ig GUARA, Renato GUEDES, Amilcar PINNA, Joe PRADO, Sidney TELES and Greg TOCCHINI!  Included are some great pages and covers from DC Comics “Blackest Night” story line.

That’s it for now, hope to hear from everyone and give me feedback.

Cheers!

I would like to thank you all for being so patient and bearing with me with all the trouble I have been having with my system. I have got everything back now, and it should only be a matter of days before I have some new updates and a revamp of the gallery format for displaying the available art for sale.
Thanks for bearing with me.

Cheers!
