Great news!  We will once again be located in the “Illustrators Area” in BOOTH #4405 for this years San Diego Comic Con.  The news was phenomenal that 4 day ticket sales sold out by November!  Incredible.  Every year the Con has not failed to get bigger and bigger, constantly creating the never ending question and speculation that Comic Con will be moving on to greener pastures (or at least larger pastures).  Well that is not for us to decide or encourage here, simply just to state the facts.  Anyways, just thought I would drop this quick note.  Questions?  Comments are always welcome.

Cheers!

Art Update and New Artist Announcement!

Posted in New Art on December 17th, 2009 by Joe

Hello everyone!

I finally had to just dive right in and get all the pages scanned and loaded up.  It didn’t help that the website was giving me problems and the shopping cart function wasn’t working, but now I have all the art up and the website working again so here goes.

Just arrived from Paulo SIQUEIRA are pages from “Amazing Spider-Man Presents: Anti-Venom – New Ways to Live with appearances by “the Punisher!”  Included are pages from issue numbers 1, 2 & 3.  Also from Paulo are several pages from “Ms. Marvel” issue numbers 29, 30 & 31 and finally pages from “Amazing Spider-Man” issue numbers 596, 598 & 599.

From Adriana MELO some classic pages very early art work (1995) from “the Fantastic Four: Unplugged”.  Some more recent work from the pages of “Ms. Marvel” issue numbers 28 & 29, inked by Mariah BENES.  Also inked by Mariah are pages from “War Of Kings: Warriors – Crystal #1”, including the spectacular cover from issue #2!  Check out the pages to “Amazing Spider-Man Presents: Jackpot #1” including the cover to issue #2!  Lastly not to be missed is the fantastic alternate “90’s Decade Cover” to “X-Men: Legacy #25” featuring the many faces of Rogue.

Eddy BARROWS had provided a huge group of pages including pages, pre-lims and covers.  Starting with “Blackest Night Superman” numbers 1, 2 & 3 from the popular DC Comics crossover, with the majority of the inking duties attributed to Ruy JOSE!  The covers to BN_Superman are in Edy’s fantastically detailed “tonal” style which really takes the art to a new level.  Also available are the pages to “Blackest Night JSA” including the gate fold covers to issues 1, 2 & 3 these must be seen to be believed!

Joe BENNETT has sent a very nice selection of pages from “Teen Titans” from issue numbers 73, 74, 75 & 77.  Most of the inking chores on these issues was done by the talented Jack JADSON.

Lastly is a large grouping of pages from Ryan BENJAMIN.  I picked up the last three issues of “Dead Romeo”, issues 4, 5 & 6.   I will be offering big discounts on most of Ryan’s Dead Romeo pages, so if there is something you’re interested in let me know. I also got Ryan to clean up his studio where he unearthed some real hidden treasures including trading card art from “Spawn”, “Wildcats”, “Union” and “Marvel”.  Also uncovered were a great group of pages from his early work on “Grifter” issues 1, 2 & 3 for Image Comics.  Pages from “WildC.A.T.S.” and even from “WildCORE”.  Wow.  What a blast from the past.

Onto the new artist announcement portion!  I would like everyone to welcome Eduardo FERIGATO!, a fantastic illustrator who is joining our little group.  Although Eduardo’s gallery might not be large, he has some great samples of his art.  Drop by and take a look.

You can check out Rafael ALBUQUERQUE‘S latest work on the hugely anticipated book “American Vampire’ written by master of american horror Stephen King!! Make sure to pre-order your copies, these will sell out!

Cheers!

Comic-Art-Ink artist update and happenings

Posted in Uncategorized on November 25th, 2009 by Joe

Hello Everyone!

Firstly, I want to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving for those of you living in the U.S.

I would also like to take a few minutes of your time to update you all on just some of the various projects that our artists are working on and that will be coming your way in the very near future.

Continuing her work at the House of Ideas, Adriana MELO will be working with writer Marc Guggenheim on Amazing Spider-Man Presents: Jackpot #1 (Mini series) coming your way in January.  Following his great work on Marvel Adventures The Avengers and Lockjaw and The Pet Avengers, Ig GUARA can be found in Marvel Adventures Super Heroes #19.   January also signals the release of the collected Graphic Novel/Trade Paperback of the Odyssey, penciled by Greg TOCCHINI, written by Roy Thomas based on the epic tale by Homer.  Roger CRUZ is hard at work on several Marvel titles including, Marvel Adventures Super Heroes and X-Men First Class.  Paulo SIQUEIRA has also been hard at work on several Marvel titles, including Amazing Spider-Man and Amazing Spider-Man Presents Anti-Venom!

Continuing in one of DC Comics’ most ambitious cross-over events ever, Eddy Barrows fantastic pencils can be seen in the pages of Blackest Night: JSA #2 written by fan favorite James ROBINSON and Blackest Night Superman also written by James!  Coming off an spectacular year long run on Superman, Renato GUEDES’ art can be found as the new artist on Green Arrow & Black Canary beginning with issue #25.  Joe BENNETT continues his outstanding run on Teen Titans.  See Joe PRADO’S work on several covers of the Red Tornado mini-series written by Kevin VanHook; with Art by José Luís and J.P.Mayer.

BIG NEWS, click on over to Newsarama and read all about the much anticipated “American Vampire” comic on the Vertigo imprint written by acclaimed horror author Stephen KING which will feature art by none other than our own Rafael ALBUQUERQUE!  We are shivering in our boots!

Ryan Benjamin continues to work on his creator owned project titled “Pancratia” it’s really a very cool concept with some amazing art.

I will be receiving a shipment of art in the next week, including pages from Eddy BARROWS “Blackest Night”, many commissions from Renato GUEDES and a whole bunch of art from many other artists.   Once the pages arrive and I can scan them all, I will be sending out an art update.  Keep an eye out!

Cheers!

Back from our trip “Down Under”.

Posted in Website Update on November 3rd, 2009 by Joe

Whew!
After a 15 hour flight (that was delayed an extra 5 hours!) we are finally back at home.  The trip was great.  The wedding was spectacular, the bride and groom were beautiful and the weather was brilliant.  It was nice to be with family and friends and catch up on things.
So after our (much too short) vacation, it’s time to get back to business!  I will begin emailing those of you with questions and taking care of much needed responses.  I hope to be receiving a shipment of art very soon, so I should be having an update for you all very soon as well.  I want to thank you all for your patience.

Cheers!

Posted in Website Update on August 30th, 2009 by Joe

I would like to thank you all for being so patient and bearing with me with all the trouble I have been having with my system. I have got everything back now, and it should only be a matter of days before I have some new updates and a revamp of the gallery format for displaying the available art for sale.
Thanks for bearing with me.

Cap’n, I think she’s gonna’ blow!

Just a quick note to let everyone know that on Saturday the hard drive on my computer over-heated and crashed.  I spoke with the tech today and he informed me that he was unable to retrieve any of the data off of my hard drive, luckily I had backed up most of the info on an external HD!  But, sadly I have lost all of my email contacts.  If you all wouldn’t mind please send me an email so that I can start to rebuild my contact list.  I will begin to respond to all email requests and emails within the next few days.

I will also begin scanning and uploading all of the art that I received in the shipment just prior to Comic-Con that did not sell at the show and have it up on the site within the next week or so.  I will also be posting photos taken from our booth.  Again, I would like to thank everyone who dropped by the booth and those who stopped by Renato and Joe’s Artists Alley table, it was a pleasure meeting some of you for the first time and seeing some old friends.

Thanks for your patience.

Cheers!
